Kansas State University and its faithful alumni have a long history and tradition of doing what it takes to fight for Wildcat Victories. That is something that we are proud of and the reason that Wildcat Victory is the perfect name for this campaign.
It is time to fight for another Wildcat Victory. This time, the competition is facilities. As universities compete for the most talented student-athletes, the way those student-athletes evaluate their choices takes into heavy consideration the quality of a school’s facilities. Above all else, the state of facilities reflects the commitment to competing for championships. One visit can tell a recruit if this is a school that is committed to competing for Big 12 Conference and National Championships. Many of K-State’s Big 12 Conference rivals have already made this commitment. We must meet this challenge.
The improvements made to facilities will enhance the revenue generating ability and put the department in the position to remain competitive into the future.
The Wildcat Victory Campaign will require all K-State fans to call themselves to a level of support that is above and beyond anything done before. The two-year campaign will ask K-Staters to support the Wildcat Victory above-and-beyond what they are doing in support of the Ahearn Scholarship Fund or the Barrett Endowment Society. It is vital that we continue to be able to pay for scholarships while enhancing our facilities.
